Weather could wreak havoc on Yankees’ Opening Day

What’s Opening Day in The Bronx without worrying about the weather?

While Thursday’s forecast may not be as bad as in 2018, when the Yankees got snowed out on Opening Day, it does call for rain, wind and a high of 49 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

The good news for the Yankees and Blue Jays is that the rain is expected to taper off by first pitch at 1:05 p.m., mostly coming before 9 a.m.

Still, winds of 15-17 mph and gusts as high as 28 mph are forecast for The Bronx, per the NWS.

“I know it’s going to be a little colder and potentially weather and windier tomorrow, but the guys are ready to go,” manager Aaron Boone said.
